Accounting Firms in Riyadh
Outsourced accounting in Riyadh is the monthly close that Zakat, VAT, withholding tax and the SOCPA auditor all sit on. Headquarters files fail when intercompany balances with Jeddah or Dammam are guessed, GOSI and payroll drift, and the Zakat pack is built in a rush at year-end. ISZ Global shortlists accounting firms that already run Riyadh books. We do not keep your books. You appoint.

Books the Zakat agent and the auditor can both use
Riyadh closes fail when related-party accounts, provisions and long-term payables are dumped into suspense until December. Those are exactly the lines the Zakat base is built from. A firm that only produces a trial balance is not enough.
The accounting firm should not be the SOCPA auditor. It may prepare a pack for the Zakat agent; filing Zakat still needs an appointment you choose. GOSI and payroll are usually in scope unless you have a separate HR provider.
Arabic working papers matter for ZATCA and for many Riyadh owners. English packs matter for offshore parents. Say which you need.
Headquarters complexity
- Intercompany with Jeddah, Dammam and foreign sisters.
- Multi-currency and, where relevant, a UAE sister that must not be treated as a Saudi branch.
- A monthly Zakat estimate so cash is set aside before the return.
- A calendar that the VAT return, WHT and the auditor can all live on.
How matching works
Tell us the system, the group map and whether Zakat is already late. We shortlist two or three Riyadh accounting firms within 24 hours. You appoint. Keep the SOCPA auditor as a separate firm. Fees vary with volume; request a quote.
A Riyadh close the Zakat agent can file from
The monthly pack should include a related-party roll-forward, a provisions schedule, and a cash-versus-Zakat set-aside β not only a trial balance. If those three are missing, the Zakat agent will reconstruct them in April at emergency rates. That is not accounting.
GOSI, payroll and Nitaqat headcount must match. A close that books payroll in one figure and GOSI in another without a recon will fail both the auditor and the HR inspection. Ask which day of the month those recs land.
Intercompany with Jeddah and Dammam should be matched every month. Headquarters that leave branch current accounts to year-end are why group audits stall. Put a matching date in the letter.
Who owns the accounting system tenant? The company should. Arabic and English packs should be a setting, not a rewrite. If the firm will not hand over admin access at the end of the engagement, do not start. ISZ Global does not host your books and does not file Zakat.
Questions for a Riyadh accounting firm
Riyadh books exist to feed Zakat, VAT, WHT and the auditor. If the firm cannot name the days those feeds go out, they are storing journals. Compare two or three calendars, then appoint. ISZ Global does not host the tenant.
- Which day do related-party and provisions schedules land each month?
- How do you match Jeddah and Dammam intercompany?
- GOSI, payroll and Nitaqat: which day do the recs land?
- Who owns the system tenant?
- Will you file Zakat or only prepare the pack?
- Will you also be the SOCPA auditor? (No.)
- Arabic and English packs: a setting or a rewrite?
- What does catch-up cost if the last close was a year ago?
After you appoint a Riyadh accounting firm
Move admin access to the company in week one. Hand over related-party roll-forwards, GOSI, payroll, VAT and last year's auditor points. Lock the monthly days for recs, branch matching and the Zakat set-aside.
If last year is open, price catch-up as a project. Absorbing it inside the retainer is how this year's Zakat pack is born in a rush. Jeddah and Dammam intercompany must match every month, not at year-end.
The SOCPA auditor is a different firm. Zakat filing is a different appointment unless you named this firm for it. Arabic and English packs should be a setting in the system, not a rewrite the week the bank asks. ISZ Global does not host the books and does not file Zakat.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the accounting firm file Zakat?
Only if you appoint them for that and they are competent. Many firms prepare the pack and a separate Zakat consultant files. Ask which model you are buying, and keep the auditor out of both.
Can they also be the SOCPA auditor?
No. Independence requires a separate auditor. That is why the bank accepts the opinion.
Does ISZ Global perform this work?
No. We shortlist vetted firms. You appoint. The licence, the report and the filing stay with the firm you choose.
